Shelby Dangerfield, Your Miss Montana USA 2024

Thanks for stopping by! My name is Shelby and I'm a proud 5th  generation Montanan, born and raised below the Rimrocks in Billings. Coming from generations of hard workers, I am proud to have been chosen as your Miss Montana USA 2024 where I went on to compete for the title of Miss USA on August 4th, 2024 in Los Angeles, CA.

Growing up in Billings, I was a proud competitive dancer with a local dance studio. at a young age I traveled around the United States performing pieces in lyrical, jazz, tap, hip hop and contemporary. My love for dance spawned my love for music and I began taking classical voice lessons at the age of 11. Voice lessons turned into a love for singing and I found my local community theater where I could combine my love for dance and singing. I performed in Billings Studio Theater's Peter Pan and CATS when I found my way to Rimrock Opera where I performed in Tosca and The Crucible. Outside of the arts I found a love for leadership in student council where I raised food donations for local Food Banks and organized events celebrating extracurricular activities outside of sports.

I relentlessly pursued the opportunity to study Musical Theater in a higher level of education and landed the opportunity to attend Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina.  While earning my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater, I was also involved in Student Government and proudly graduated the Jackson Scholar Program for Ethics and Morals. During that program I took philosophy and ethics classes and studied what it means to be planted in your values. We also mentored young students in the community and went on to work for Disney Cruise Lines in their Broadway Style Production shows. Now working as a Commercial Insurance Advisor for Leavitt Great West,  I forward to traveling the state sharing my program “Master Your Mind and Win Your Future” so students can plan successfully for their futures and help them make wise financial and strategic life decisions. I've also enjoyed a fond appreciation for those who sacrifice their time and sometimes their lives to keep us safe by serving in our armed forces. With this unwavering passion, I'll use my initiative OPERATION HONOR WARRIORS  honor and uplift the Veterans’ community across our great state as Miss Montana USA 2024. You are encouraged to support my missions by visiting the Operation Honor Warrior page.

Though I did not place at Miss USA, I met incredible young women who are going to be apart of shaping America's future. I was proud to be one of the 51 women competing for the title and will continue to support young women in organizations like this all my life.
